Background
Senior Exploration Geoscientist with extensive experience in offshore Malaysia subsurface interpretation. Work spans basin analysis, well prognosis, fault interpretation, and the application of structured reasoning to high-uncertainty technical decisions.
The combination of geoscience rigor and systems thinking led naturally to an interest in AI governance — specifically, what it means to build AI systems that are honest about their uncertainty, bounded in their authority, and accountable to human judgment.
Why arifOS exists
arifOS was not designed in a conference room. It was forged from operational experience:
- Institutional knowledge erasure — watching critical subsurface understanding disappear when people left.
- False certainty in basin models — a 30% error in resource estimates, caused by untested velocity assumptions.
- Signal without calibration — two dry wells, because the data was read as confirmation rather than signal.
- Interface corruption — safety warnings hidden behind UI choices that rewarded speed over accuracy.
arifOS is the architectural response to those failures. Every Floor, every tool, every veto mechanism exists because something went wrong in its absence.
