USE CASES
Where Governance Meets Practice
arifOS is not theoretical. Every mechanism was built for a specific operational domain.
Geoscience & Well Operations
Well-log interpretation
AI models can accelerate log analysis, but a mis-typed porosity calculation or a mis-identified fault can lead to a dry well or a safety incident. arifOS enforces uncertainty bounds on every interpretation, flags when input data is sparse, and requires human sign-off before a prognosis becomes a drilling decision.
Tools: geox.well_viewer, geox.interpret_las
Basin model review
Resource estimates carry real uncertainty bands. arifOS requires every basin model output to declare its assumption set and uncertainty range. A 30% error in a velocity model is not acceptable if it was never declared as a range.
Enterprise AI Governance
AI decision auditing
Before deploying an AI system in an enterprise, operators need to know: what did it decide, what information did it use, and was it within its operating bounds? VAULT999 provides the audit trail. The 13 floors provide the constraint checklist. /888 provides the veto record.
Multi-agent coordination
When multiple AI agents operate in the same environment — one planning, one executing, one reviewing — each action must be traceable to a specific agent with a specific authorizer. arifOS's A2A mesh and session registry make multi-agent operations auditable.
Tools: arif_gateway_connect, arif_kernel_route
Software Deployment
Production change governance
Deploying code to production is irreversible. arifOS can intercept a deployment intent, check it against the constitutional floors, declare the reversibility profile, and force a HOLD if the change lacks an adequate rollback plan. The human operator approves before the change goes live.
Tools: arif_forge_execute, arif_heart_critique
Constitutional review of AI-generated code
AI-generated code should not be deployed without review. arifOS tools can run a critique scan on generated code, assess its safety profile, and require human ratification before it enters a codebase.
Personal AI Assistants
Bounded assistant behavior
Personal AI assistants can be useful but also dangerous — they can fabricate information, overstate confidence, or attempt to shape user behavior through selective framing. arifOS keeps assistant outputs bounded: every claim must be evidence-linked, every recommendation must declare uncertainty, and the human operator can always invoke /888 to override.
Financial and economic analysis
AI can produce compelling economic analyses that are wrong in their assumptions. arifOS requires separation between descriptive analysis (what the data shows), interpretive analysis (what it probably means), and advisory recommendation (what to do). The human operator decides which category applies.
The /888 Veto Room in Practice
The /888 Veto Room is where every override is recorded. In high-stakes operations, the veto record is as important as the approval record. It tells you where the AI exceeded its bounds — which is exactly where the system needs to improve.
Every domain above has its own version of /888: a place where the human said "no" and that "no" is on the record. arifOS makes that record permanent.
